The Executive members are listed with their roles and email addresses.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>Filling up the CORE Calendar for Spring and Summer Events<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">Calling all hikers, planners, leaders, day-trippers, part-time walkers, photographers, nature lovers, cyclists, tennis buffs and anyone who can spell \u201coutdoors\u201d to join us as we load the CORE Calendar for the summer. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">Even if you have never led a hike \u2013 or even if you don\u2019t know the way \u2013 there will be lots of help and mentors and co-trip leaders who would be delighted to come along with you.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">This event will be hosted by Mike on May 18. See the CORE calendar for details.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">And, as a reminder to all old-hand hike leaders and new ones alike, please review the<\/span> <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/corehike.org\/?page_id=2348\" target=\"_blank\">EVENT COORDINATORS\u2019 GUIDELINES<\/a><\/strong> <span style=\"color: #000000\">posted on the CORE website.\u00a0 These are a collection of &#8220;tribal knowledge&#8221; representing years of experience of people seasoned in mountain recreation. They are meant to promote safety in our outdoor activities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>Attach your Membership Card to your Backpack<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">As hike leaders, we get to know a lot of the regular attendees of hikes and other outings. Springtime hikes can be a little muddy or a tad snowy, but the hikes listed below are usually the first ones to be snow free. They are also kid-friendly too, so bring the whole family along.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.rockiesfamilyadventures.com\/p\/spring-and-fall-hiking.html\">Fenland Trail<\/a> <span style=\"color: #000000\">(Banff Townsite, right before \u2018Welcome to Banff\u2019 sign when you take the second exit into Banff) \u2013 This 2km loop is ideal for small children and bikes, and is a lovely way to spend an hour. Watch the river, or climb over old logs.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.banff.ca\/index.aspx?NID=636\">Sundance Canyon<\/a> <span style=\"color: #000000\">(Banff Townsite) \u2013 An easy 4 km hike for those who want beautiful scenery and exercise, but nothing too strenuous.
