CORE: A Hiking Club… and More<\/strong><\/h1>\nOur Mission<\/strong><\/p>\nTo provide a welcoming cohesive organization within which adult members can participate in the responsible enjoyment of outdoor recreation, primarily hiking.\u00a0 Members participating in group activities shall be cooperative, safety-conscious and committed to group participation;\u00a0 originality, initiative and enthusiasm are appreciated and encouraged.<\/p>\n
Calgary Outdoor Recreation Enthusiasts Society, or CORE for short, was started in 1999 as an outdoor recreational club with activities including cycling, hiking, scrambling, skiing, snowshoeing, social outings, and urban walks. We invite you to explore our many photo albums<\/a> showing our club in action to see who we are, where we go, and what we do.<\/p>\nWe are a member of the Alberta Hiking Association (AHA) and a registered Society under the Alberta Societies Act.<\/p>\n

Directions:<\/strong><\/p>\nFrom East or Westbound 17th Ave SE (see map below states 1A, which is 17th Ave)<\/p>\n
Turn South on 26th Street SE (there is a set of lights at this intersection).\u00a0 Ensure you are in the right hand lane and immediately turn right where the City of Calgary Utilities\/Electrical station is (it is a small black building with LED lights on it, indicated by the red arrow below).<\/p>\n
Follow the road down to the parking lot. Take the stairs down to the club house building.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
