Peterman Education Fund – For historical information only<\/strong><\/h2>\n

In 2010, CORE received a bequest of $7,000 from the estate of Branko Peterman. Of that money, $6,000 was to be used for educational and safety funding (the remaining $1,000 to be used for a celebration of life). The fund was called the Peterman Education Endowment Fund.<\/p>\n

CORE has held several courses over the years and the money was used up by 2019.
\nThe Executive decided in 2019 to continue with the fund, renaming it as the Peterman Education Fund.
\nThis fund will be dependent on the CORE General Fund balance sheet of the previous fiscal year and current budget year, to a maximum amount of $1,000 per year.<\/p>\n

In 2025, the Executive committee decided to discontinue the Peterman Education Fund as a separate entity and instead put the remaining money back into the CORE general fund. The Executive felt that it no longer serves any purpose to have a separate account.<\/strong><\/p>\n

CORE still intends to hold appropriate courses from time to time and money will be used from the general fund for this purpose. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Guidelines for Courses<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Courses can be held as money permits and internal courses given by CORE members should also be considered each year, at little or no cost to CORE.<\/p>\n

The Executive shall decide and vote on the courses proposed, with a majority rule.<\/p>\n

Priority should be given to courses with a focus on safety.<\/p>\n

Participants will register and pay a non-refundable deposit and\/or an amount towards the total cost of the course. This will be done online, and participants and payments will be notified to the coordinator.<\/p>\n

A member of the Executive should be assigned to oversee and document each course, costs, as well as collecting the\u00a0Trip Reports, Course Report, participant reviews, etc.<\/p>\n

Members signing up for any CORE funded course should be members in good standing and have been a member for a minimum of 3 months.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
