Snowed approx 6 inches previous night on trail. Trail was hard with frost on top, turned to light mud by afternoon. With over a foot of new snow at higher elevation on Stanley Mt, there was a lot of loud cracking with rocks tumbling. We did not see any rock slides. We only went to the start of the trail that goes to the upper portion of Stanley Glacier an we stayed out of the valley in case of slides. Had lunch about 15' above the entrance above the entrance of the trail basin on Storm Mt side. After 15 minutes of lunch I heard an extended loud crack and decided to head back down.
