There were several warmer days prior to this outing where daytime temps ranged from +2 to +5 including this day. Resulting in freeze/thaw of snowpack lower down. Proceeded from Boutlon Parking Lot along Moraine, Fox Creek to Elk Pass. Icy conditions lower down improving to good well track set conditions beyond Fox Creek section amidst significantly more recent snow that covered up the ice. Proceeded towards Elk Pass rather than Blueberry Hill due to time constraints. Several steep sections of trail lower down needed to be walked for safety reasons. Weather was sunny and warm with some breezy conditions.
