This hike can be done from Alberta to BC with car shuttle or from BC to the border and back. We started in Alberta and needed to get permission from land owners as this hike starts from private property. We had a good view of Crowsnest Lake near the start but the whole hike on Alberta side was on stony road, with some boardwalks and construction vehicles along the route. No obvious sign of AB/BC border but Philipps Lake below straggles border. We hiked down to lake for lunch. High above is AGT transmitter tower and one member went up there with another group we encountered at border. There are 3 boulders off to the side which we think was border, then in BC the route became much nicer. Wildflowers galore all the way down. A left turn down the cutline led to car park.
After the hike 7 of us went to Coleman to do the Star Creek Falls. No signage anywhere so we followed creek but it became difficult and we had to cross the creek on logs or just walk through the water. At the other side we could see the end of the waterfall but too dangerous to go across to climb up and around to see the falls. This could maybe be done in fall when there is not much water.
