Rather than use Skogan Pass route, we took an unsigned route from W. end of parking. Followed clear, boot-beaten trial and then old DH lift line. From top of that open area we veered left onto trail through trees that ascended finally into open meadow below Pigeon Mtn. Rather than return via life line we took another boot-beaten trail that veered towards Highway 1. Came out close to hwy and entrance to quarry, 1 km below parking area.
