There are two stream crossings shortly after start, 1st over bridge, 2nd best done via logs over creek a bit upstream. The 'crux' rock climbing is avoidable by taking path to rt. below rock face to a short scramble up through trees. Mad Dog Café in Dead Man's Flats seems a good refreshment option post hike.
