Mount Assiniboine - Naiset Huts

Helicoptered in from Mount Shark heli-pad for some back-country skiing and boarding over three days. Despite icy conditions in other parts of the Rockies, the climate is very different at Assiniboine and there was fresh powder every day and wonderful ski conditions. This is a good time to year to visit as it tends to be less cold--around -5 each day. Food was terrific, and atmosphere very warm and welcoming. In four unofficial trips the alpine skiers skied the Nublit, the Niblet and Terrapin Bowl and the light touring skiers visited Jones Bench, Sunshine and Cerulean Lakes and Lizzie Rummel's cabin.
