5th Annual Memorial Hike
Fullerton Loop and Allan Bill Pond = Easy 5 km 150 m

The morning started off cool and drizzly but as we set off along the trail in the good company of CORE friends to pay tribute we got a reprieve from the skies. The cloud hung around but the drizzle stopped and it turned out to be the perfect day together. We knew our fellow hikers who have passed were smiling down upon us. The hike was a very leisurely pace and we paid our respects sharing stories and chatting about our remembered friends.
There were lots and lots of cows around on the Fullerton Loop Trail and where there are cows there is…well let’s not get into that!!
After the hike we all congregated at Allan Bill Pond day use area for a potluck and wiener roast. The campfire roaring, hot chocolate steaming on the stove, fresh apples from Mila and Mike’s tree, a buffet spread out like no other in true CORE fashion was a hungry hikers delight. I am always amazed and grateful how everyone pitches in to make it an enjoyable feast with nothing forgotten. Look closely at the pics, when an engineer is present one has no worries about forgetting the roasting stick…one was designed!!
We also took this opportunity to present Julia T with the Chicken Mountain Award….she says it all the dogs fault. ☺
