UPDATE: Backpack - "Get the Kinks Out"- Boundry Bay, Waterton Lakes Natl. Park (Easy-Moderate) Get the kinks out before heading into a new backpacking season!!!! Three days, two nights (May 16, 17,18).Great time to test equipment especially if it's new!! Distance to Boundary Bay is 7 km, 75m elev. gain, 150m elev. loss. I have reservations for Boundry Bay which is located on the border between Waterton and Glacier Natl. Parks on Waterton Lake. I need to know how many are registering for this event by Thursday May 13 as I have had to pay up front so if I know total people attending I will get refunded the difference but Waterton needs 24 hour notice. You will need to bring water sandals as there may be waterlogged areas of trail enroute and there are a few snow patches - these are all easily negotiated. We will hike and basecamp here and go out from camp. Options are hiking up to Lake Janet or Lake Francis in Glacier Natl. Park, hiking to Kootenai Lakes in Glacier Natl. Park (dependant on the crossing of Waterton River), Mother Duck Trail. Bring your fishing pole if you want, because we'll be on the international border and between two national parks (Glacier/Waterton) there is no fishing permit required in Glacier. This trip is suitable for beginning backpackers but you must be have proper boots and gear. This trip is open to 6 people
