HIKE: THE WHALEBACK (E-M): While it's a bit of a drive, both the drive & the hike offer wonderful foothills scenery. We'll stop for coffee at the Navajo Mug in Longview for a break & a stretch before continuing S on Hwy. 22. The hike gets up (375 m) onto an up-&-down 30 km ridge. We don't have time to do more than a little of the ridge, the North Whaleback Loop. Optional supper stop: Longview Steakhouse. Mtg. place is Heritage Park parking just off 14 St. SW.
