Larches starting to turn colour. Signage and trail clear. 3 Lakes and Mt. Standish lookout were the highlight. Bus was full on the way out. Possibly reserve seats ahead of time. Clear, 19C. Some mud at the lakes, otherwise trail excellent.

SUNSHINE MEADOWS HIKE & OPTIONS: I am finally organizing my first event. We can meet at 8:00am in Edworthy Park (parking lot). We will car pool to the parking lot at Sunshine Ski Hill, and take a shuttle bus up to the main lifts (the village). Here we can hike any number of trails (Rock Isle Lake, Grizzly & Larix Lakes, Twin Cairns, Meadow Park, or the Sunshine Meadows loop. Maximum distance will be 10.5km (round trip), and minimum distance could be 4.4km (round trip), depending on what everyone would like to do. Elevation gain ranges from 110m -400m. The estimate for the longer hike (10km - Sunshine Village to Rock Lake Viewoint) is estimated at 4-5 hours for the round trip. This can be the base for the most difficult hike of the day. I will rate this event as Moderate. We will catch the shuttle down, and I have no plans set to stop for drinks or snacks, but we can definitely fit that in if people are interested. I will post the URL for the shuttle. The cost is $25.00 per person (round trip), and the shuttles start at 9:00am, and run every hour until 5:30pm. This is not a pet friendly hike, as I believe they are not allowed on the shuttle.
