Comments

Overcast day with light snow. Not too cold but bit of a cold wind up top. Main trail was hard packed but snow was better up top. Did some off trail on return along James Walker Creek but going was tough as creek was open so we returned to the trail we made on our way in. All seemed to have a good time.

SNOWSHOE JAMES WALKER CREEK (M): Follow old logging roads on gradually ascending route - nice views along the way - to a snow covered lake, the source of James Walker Creek. Height gain to the lake is 259 m & return distance is 8.6 km. Mtg. place is Edworthy Park, N. side of river, E. end of parking lot. We'll be snowshoeing 4-5 hours before we head into Canmore at a recommended eatery.
