Off trail return via Rummel Cr. very attractive but goes north of trailhead, requires challenging uphill backtracking.
SNOWSHOE: RUMMEL LAKE TRAIL (M): The lake is noted for its pretty setting, nestled in on the west side of Mt Galatea. The trail starts near Engadine Lodge and initially follows an old logging trail, then crosses an open slope to the lake. Beyond the lake it is 3 km and 180 m to Rummel Pass. Return distance to lake is 10 km, elevation gain 350 m. Mtg. place for this trip is Edworthy Park parking lot, N side of the Bow River, by the intersection of Shaganappi Tr. & Bowness Rd.
