Group ALSO included 3 from ski club. Climbing the rock band to lookout scary for a few. Descent on scree and loose rock on south end of ridge also challenging for a couple.

Additional Comments

We'll breakfast in Black Diamond on our way to the trailhead. Precise destination and route of hike will depend on ground conditions. The trail to Hailstone Butte Lookout is 4 km and climbs 340 m. The summit provides an excellent view over the prairies to the east. The ridge can be walked to extend the hike. The return distance will be about 10 km.
