19Km total w/ backtrack detour. Grizzly encounter ~1km up N. Ribbon trail, 3.6km from destination. Bear held off at ~10m. Took group back out to ribbon Ck. Trail & on toward Ribbon Falls as alternate. Stayed back w/slow/weak hiker and returned to trailhead parking with him after turning around 1km short of Ribbon Falls. Stopped at info centre to report bear
