Death Valley trailhead starts at equestrian day use area across from Sandy McNabb campground. Hike can be shortened by 2km by shuttling a few cars two km west on Hwy 546 to trailhead for Foran Grade Ridge. If you start at Death Valley trailhead and come out at Foran Grade trailhead, the above suggestion may be worth following as we ended up hiking two km. down Hwy. back to Sandy McNabb.
