CORE: A Hiking Club… and More

Calgary Outdoor Recreation Enthusiasts Society, or CORE for short, was started in 1999 as an outdoor recreational club with activities including cycling, hiking, scrambling, skiing, snowshoeing, social outings, and urban walks. We invite you to explore our many photo albums showing our club in action to see who we are, where we go, and what we do.

We are a member of the Calgary Area Outdoor Council (CAOC) and a registered Society under the Alberta Societies Act.

If you need information on becoming a member please visit our Joining page for details and the application form.

CORE holds monthly meetings at 7 PM on the last Tuesday of each month except December, where the public are welcome to join.  After a brief business discussion, we have a presentation typically of interest to the outdoor community.
Our Club News page has details on upcoming meetings.   These are now held in the Scarboro Community Centre: 1727 14 Ave SW (Please note this change of location; we’re no longer meeting in the “Old Firehall”).

Note: Although the pin on the map above shows the community hall address, the parking lot is actually in the back, behind the tennis courts (accessible from 15th Ave, before it goes uphill).  See mini-map below.
If the north (14th Ave) door is locked, please go to the south door (from the parking lot) — which is actually the “main” entry door for the hall.
