CORE: A Hiking Club… and More

Member of Alberta Hiking Association

Our Mission
To provide a welcoming cohesive organization within which adult members can participate in the responsible enjoyment of outdoor recreation, primarily hiking.  Members participating in group activities shall be cooperative, safety-conscious and committed to group participation;  originality, initiative and enthusiasm are appreciated and encouraged.

Calgary Outdoor Recreation Enthusiasts Society, or CORE for short, was started in 1999 as an outdoor recreational club with activities including cycling, hiking, scrambling, skiing, snowshoeing, social outings, and urban walks. We invite you to explore our many photo albums showing our club in action to see who we are, where we go, and what we do.

We are a member of the Alberta Hiking Association (AHA) and a registered Society under the Alberta Societies Act.

If you need information on becoming a member please visit our Joining page for details and the application form.

The Twitter feed on the CORE Home page posts details on upcoming events as well as re-posts of items of interest to the outdoor community.
